Should I deny an expensive gift?
I've been dating my boyfriend for two years and we're pretty serious. He also makes a high salary compared to me. Last christmas, he got me an iphone worth $600, I told him it was too expensive to keep, but he insisted and got a little offended so i kept it. This year, I just opened a gift from him and saw he got me a new macbook air computer. These range around $1200. This time, I feel he has Really overdone it. I know he can afford it, he has a fancy job at a well known tech company, but at the same time he's thrifty with his money and i know it was still a big purchase to him - which is what makes it cute for me.It'd be different if he just blew his money, but this shows he cares enough to spend on me.
He's a tech nerd so perhaps that's why he got it? He knows the track pad on my last computer stopped working so maybe that's why he got it? His parents finally flew oversea and i got to meet them for the first time, which was a huge deal, so perhaps it's his way of showing a new level of commitment? I don't know. I just know I'm on the fence. On one hand, I genuinely don't feel comfortable getting this gift (I really, honestly don't!) on the other hand, when I call him tomorrow i don't want to offend him by saying, "i can't accept this". I'm unsure if I should speak up or just keep my mouth shut and just say how much i love it.
It sounds like he just really likes and cares about you. I would accept the gift, be grateful, and move on. Some people just simply operate on different budgets! Imagine if you dated a millionaire and he was spending tens of thousands of dollars of gifts on you. Be happy and don't feel like you don't deserve it, because you do if he thinks so!
Most people at tech companies in this position have karge discoubts ant lor s of money. Be happy!
He loves you. Be prepared for next year's to be an engagement ring.
If you're on the fence it's time to jump off to one side or the other. Go all in… Or find yourself a new man that you're into. Your problems sound pretty awesome to me. I'm a dude but I'd date your man if he gave me all those fancy apple products… And then I'd brag to all my friends and tell them how he sure knows how to treat a man!
- Will the iPhone 5 be significantly more expensive than the iPhone 4S? Basically, will the pricing for a new iPhone 5 be the same compared to the current iPhone 4S? Or do you think it will be more than the price of the iPhone 4S now? I'm contemplating just waiting for the iPhone 5 to buy a new phone but if it's going to be significantly more expensive than the iPhone 4S then I don't know if it is worth it.
- Why are apple products so expensive? It's all repetitive. There's no 'new innovative technology'. Apple just adds stuff they purposely did not add to the previous model just to get more sales. Just like the iPhone 4s. They could have easily gotten 4g LTE connection, but it does not and that is going to be one of the 'golden features' of the iPhone 5.
- Where can i sell my expensive iphone 4 case? I have a 100% real swarovski crystal pink iphone case by deo.s so it's legit. I payed over 300 dollrs for it in NYC and i don't have my iphone anymore so i'm freaking out about how to sell this in order to get some money to buy another iphone. I really have been trying everything and i don't know what to do please help!
- What should I ask as a graduation gift? I just graduated from university and my father wants go buy me a graduation gift up to 500 dollars. There's nothing I really need right, except from money but he says he really wants to buy me a gift. I need a phone so I thought I'd ask for an iphone because I never had one, but a phone is something that I won't have in 10 years. What would be a good gift to ask that would last for life?
