Should I get a Canon T2i camera?

I'm a freshman in high school and I want to pursue photography. I love making movies and taking pictures but I only use my iPhone for it. I really want to get a good quality camera that takes good videos and pics. I also want one that's not too complicated but is big and professional. I'm thinking about getting a Canon T2i but does that match the description of what I want?

Yes you can own it, but you have to save your money first, but I have one recommendation about your hobby, maybe Sony Nex-3f would be the great one for your hobby, and its not too expansive as Canon T2i, sorry for my bad English: D

The T2i is a good camera for the serious amateur but professional it ain't!

The T2i can be a good camera. It is discontinued, and there are newer and better models. So getting a T2i would only be a good choice if you are getting a good price and especially on whether it is in good condition. How trustworthy is your source?

I've been doing digital photography since 2002.
I'm using my 4th camcorder.
I'm using my 5th digital still camera.
They do seem to last longer than in the early times.
I'm using a Canon PowerShot SX-150is
And the newest model is the SX-300is.
I paid 150-$$ (USD) for mine.
My next camera will be a Canon T-series.

The T2i is what you want, it's a DSLR camera but you could go for any today and it will do the same if not better. It's almost 4 years old and there are models such as Nikon D3100, Nikon D5100, Canon 600D and more that are much better now!

Basically you want a DSLR but one that's aimed at beginners in terms of size and price, but performs like those expensive ones. It's exactly where the DSLR industry is at right now, once you buy the camera you're ready to become a professional because it mostly depends on your skill.
