Should iPhone be burning hot after water damage?

I dropped my phone in the toilet. Unfortunately I was too late and could not turn it off. The light next to the camera started blinking soon after and the screen went black after a minute. I took out my sim card, dried it, and put it in a bag of rice. But then the light continued to blink and the iPhone was burning hot! So i put it in a bowl of ice to cool it down a bit( while still in the plastic bag, don't worry internet). After a while the light stopped blinking but it was still very hot. I've now taken it out of the ice and it's not burning but I don't know if it's working or not. What should I do? Is it normal for it to have been so hot or is completely fried and I shouldn't bother fixing it?

Put it in a bowl of rice or take sim card out immediately! Do not be on the phone after incident! And yes, it's normal.

  • Iphone water indicators not pink, still possible water damage? Hypothetically, if you got your iphone 4s wet, but the water indicators are not triggered at all, is it still possible the phone has water damage on the inside that apple would find if they took it apart?
