Stolen Iphone, what should I do?

Someone at school stole my iphone, I went to the office and told the school officer. They looked on the cameras and didn't see anything, but he filed a report that its missing with the school. My friend used her phone to track it, and we found the location; on the side of the highway. We gave it a try and went to the location and looked the best we could, but since it was dark out we had no luck. We were planning on going back tomorrow but she refreshed the "Find my iphone" app and as it refreshed it went to a house and said that's where it was but then quickly went back to the spot on the highway. I have the address of the house and i'm wondering what I should do next? Should I just call the police in the morning and give it to them? Or would they not do anything. It's in a sketchy neighborhood so they may be up to something suspicious and have a cellphone scrambler because when i tried putting a pin on it to get the address it gave me a complete random address but when i tried a few houses down it gave me the right one.
