Travelling to turkey, which data plan?
Hi, I'm travelling to turkey in a couple of weeks (the part of Turkey in Asia) and I need to get a sim for my iphone that will take care of my texts, calls and internet abroad. I'm only going to be in Turkey for a couple of weeks and my current carrier (3 mobile) doesn't have any international plans. I was wondering if anyone knows a carrier which offers good, cheap international plans.
Assuming your phone is unlocked. By a sim when you're there
International roaming is usually V expensive irrespective of the plan.
For example there seems to be a Vodaphone Turkey.
If you have a SIM card, when you arrive in Turkey you can get a disposable cheap one, but I do not think you have a solution, because your number will NOT work since your provider isn't international.
- Why does electronic devices in Turkey cost much more than other countries? For example an iphone 6s would cost 700 dolars (roughly 1.700 turkish lira) but when you look at the turkish apple store it says 2.600 turkish lira. Plus if you buy from another country you have to pay an arm and a leg to get it from customs. Why?
- Which camera should I bring? Studying abroad in London/Travelling Europe? I have these options: a DSLR Nikon camera, a Sony videocamera (small), or should I buy a digital camera? In addition, i'm bringing my iPhone 5s, which has pretty good quality as well. I'm just afraid I'll lose my DSLR, should I buy a digital camera or take the small videocamera? Suggestions? I will be studying for a semester in London and traveling to a few countries in Europe as well.
- What should I turn off/on on my iPhone when travelling abroad? I'm going to Germany for a few days and I'm taking my O2 Pay and Go iPhone5 but what settings should I turn on or off so I don't get charged a stupid amount or use all my top up money? I'm guessing data roaming should be turned off for a start. I do want to post pictures while I'm there though too, should I only do this when I can find a Wi-Fi signal to connect to?
- What are the iPhone restrictions for travelling abroad? Hi:-) I'm travelling to Italy tomorrow for a week. I have an iPhone 4S. I'm looking for a detailed explanation of dos/don'ts with my phone throughout the entire journey - particularly regarding the Internet. Include: - Travelling on a plane to Italy. - What to do with it once I get to Italy. - What to do during my trip. - Travelling home. More info the better, and the main focus of this is No Surprises On Phone Bill!
