Using an iPhone 5 in Europe (wi-fi only)?
I'm going to be traveling to Europe for almost 3 weeks and am bringing my phone with me. It is an iPhone 5, Verizon 4g lte. I only want to use it for Wi-Fi when I'm over there.
If I put it on airplane mode with Wi-Fi turned on will this be all I need to avoid having Verizon charge me for anything, even if nothing should be coming through?
I was planning to call Verizon directly but would truly love to avoid a conversation where they try to sell me plans worth hundreds of dollars for my trip. Any information is appreciated!
Verizon can't charge you for anything if all you're going to be using is Wi-Fi
However if you use LTE then they can charge you
- Would the iPhone 5 work in Europe? My friend from Europe told me that the 32GB iPhone 5 is around 1300 $. I compared the price of the iPhone in the USA and it's around 850$ so my question is… If he was to buy the iPhone 5 here would it still work in Europe? Meaning, the charger and the outlets (different volts? I don't know about the layout of the outlets/plug required) Unlocking it? Being able to use it? Thanks so much! ---Or would he have to buy the iPhone 5 plan here for it to work and etc.
- Will the iphone 4 work in europe? Ok so i want to get this iphone from verizon, but i live in germany, does anyone know if it will work here?
- What's the best sim card for using iPhone 5S around Europe? So I'm going to Europe in a couple of weeks and was wondering what my best option if for using my phone. I'm travelling through Italy, Austria, Czech Republic & France. Additionally, would I require a new sim card in those countries to avoid roaming charges or aren't then any in Europe for european sims? Also, it's an iPhone 5S so I need a micro sim… Will that pose an issue? Can you buy sim cards at the airport in Rome?
- Is there an iPhone timer app that has a minutes-only and/or a seconds-only option? I'm looking for a timer app on my phone where I can set a timer that counts down, but have it read literal minutes or seconds. Like instead of 6:00:00 for 6 hours, I'd want it to read 240:00 (240 minutes) or just have it read 14,400 seconds. I've downloaded about 20 free timer apps, and can't find what I'm looking for. Is there one? Even if it costs money? But I'd prefer it to be free…
