Using my iPhone as camera while on vacation?

I'm going on a cruise very soon but I want to use my camera on my iPhone without being charged a ton of money if I receive a text or call. Is there any way I would be able to turn those features off so I can use Wi-Fi and camera and such but no text, data, or phone calls?

  • Will my iphone 4 work in Scotland while I'm on vacation? I live in Texas and I'm going to Scotland--will my iPhone 4 work? I just learned I will be able to connect through Wi-Fi. Does that mean I can use twitter?
  • Which camera is better: An old General Imaging x500 Digital Camera or an iPhone 7 front camera? It looks like an iPhone only offers 7 MP while this camera boasts 16 MP but this camera is so old and looks worse at least on its own screen. I'm confused

I take pictures with my iPhone daily but I know it's crap compared to a decent camera. I don't go on vacation often so I don't want to spend more than $200 so hopefully that will get me a decent camera. I'm not a pro so if you guys have some suggestions on what cameras are good during the day and night I would appreciate that.
