Will my iphone 4 work in Scotland while I'm on vacation?
I live in Texas and I'm going to Scotland--will my iPhone 4 work?
Added (1). I just learned I will be able to connect through Wi-Fi. Does that mean I can use twitter?
Your phone will certainly work here but if you use your US SIM card you'll pay roaming fees for calls and data, which could be quite expensive - depends on your carrier.
Wi-Fi should be fine though, so yes you'll be able to use apps like twitter.
Yes- we even have electricity (tour Iphone charger should be multi voltage and should just plug in to an adaptor.
The mobile market in the UK is much cheaper than the US. You should be able to get a UK sim for £1.00 and top it up, this way you could use data and calls without major financial problems.
North American uses different GSM wavebands from the rest of the world for mobile phones so check first what bands your phone uses so you know whether or not it will connect. If Wi-Fi gives you internet access, of course you can then tweet.
You might want to look into getting a UK SIM for the trip or your roaming charges will be enormous.
But all this is no good if you can't charge the thing.UK mains voltage is 240V, double what it is in the US, and the plugs are a completely different shape. So you need an adaptor to be able to charge the phone from a UK 3-pin socket and if your charger isn't multi-voltage, a converter for that as well. Push 240V through something only built for 110 and it is liable to overheat and catch fire! Instant fried phone - not a good idea.
- What camera to get for vacation? I'm going on vacation to Mexico and I want a camera cuz I plan on going to a lot of different places. I take pictures with my iPhone daily but I know it's crap compared to a decent camera. I don't go on vacation often so I don't want to spend more than $200 so hopefully that will get me a decent camera. I'm not a pro so if you guys have some suggestions on what cameras are good during the day and night I would appreciate that.
- Using my iPhone on vacation? I was wondering if I turn my iPhone 5 on airplane mode for 2 weeks, will I be charged anything? And if I turn on Wi-Fi during that time will I be charged for Internet?
- Using my iPhone as camera while on vacation? I'm going on a cruise very soon but I want to use my camera on my iPhone without being charged a ton of money if I receive a text or call. Is there any way I would be able to turn those features off so I can use Wi-Fi and camera and such but no text, data, or phone calls?
- Should I take my iPhone with me on vacation? I'm going on vacation march 1st to Kosova *in Europe * and I wanted to know if I should take my iPhone with me… I'm with fido, I was thinking maybe I would take my SIM card out, leave it at home, just take my phone so I can take pictures, connect it with wi-fi over there's that a bad idea? Could I even do that. Please answer.
