What happens if you touch your iris/pupil on accident?

I was just sitting down on my iPhone and my hand was near my eye and my index finger was near my eye and then my eye looked down and my finger accidentally went into my eye and touched my iris and I think my pupil too. Then after that my eye felt irritated and it felt like a signal went into my head because it kind of hurt and then my vision was a little bit blurry so I went to put eye drops and now I'm kind of scared. My hands were normal they weren't the cleanest thing in the world though. Is something going to happen to my eye? I find it hard to see.

Nothing usually happens. Contact lens wearers get used to touching their eyes. Just give it a while and your eye should be back to normal. If it isn't by tomorrow, get it checked out. An optician can do that for you.

You should be fine. First, the pupil is actually not a part of the eye specifically, but is a hole in the eye formed by the iris. The pupil changes size due to the iris letting in more or less light. Your iris should be fine to get touched as long as it wasn't hard. Because think, when people put contacts in, where does the contact set? On the iris and over the pupil. But accidentally poking your eye will of course hurt because the eye is a sensitive organ of the body. The blurriness i would assume is just from being slightly aggravated and should go away fairly quickly. If it stays for awhile, I would go to a doctor however.
