What internet speed should I order?

I'm looking at up to 3Mbps for $29.99 per month or up to 15Mbps for $34.99 per month, before taxes and fees. I don't want to pay for more than I need, but I want to have enough speed to do what I need to. I'm a college student and I watch lectures online streaming and I have to download and upload homework assignments as well. I also stream Netflix and connect my iPhone to Wi-Fi when I get home. Which would be better for me?

Added (1). I don't live on campus. When I'm on campus I use the Wi-Fi there.

The best advice to your question is this: Get as much speed as you can possibly afford. If you're streaming, I wouldn't recommend 3Mbps at all given some streaming can range up to 10 to 15Mbps at any given time. 3Mbps would force Netflix to detect and degrade the video quality to ensure it streams and buffers before the next frame hits.

The 3mbs is more than enough. On your campus you will most likely get throttled anyway. As long as you don't need to download game patches or entire movies, the 3mbs is more than feasible

If you look at it from a monetary standpoint. For $5, you are getting an extra 12 Mbps.that's literally 42 cents per each Mbps. (before taxes and fees)

You really should get the 15 Mbps.

5 times the speed for an extra $5 a month sounds like a good deal to me. Waiting for stuff to load feels like an eternity when staring at a computer screen.

Most lower prices are fast anyway

I assume if you choose the slower speed and aren't happy with the experience, you can make a phone call and upgrade. Ask the provider if there's a fee if you want to upgrade later. If no fee, great.
