What is your opinion on teenagers having MacBooks and iPhones?

Lots of people say they are underage to have the responsibility of a macbook or iPhone. I'm 13 and i take good care of mine

What do you think?

If they can handle it (and afford it), sure. But most of them have stuff just to have it. I know I did when I was a teen. Buy it to fit your needs. If a Linux phone suits your needs, then get that instead. If a netbook suits your needs better, then get that.

If you can't justify it (or afford it), don't buy it.

Your question should answer itself. You are born into this new age and are therefore more adept at adapting to new technology. Put yourself in the shoes of the elders who are talking about responsibility. One day when you are older the technology of today will be a thing of the past and therefore not hold so such weight as it does presently. Similarly, the youth of today are the pioneers of modern technology because they are born into it. I do not know if you have watched I'm ROBOT but that movie literally portrays human evolution in modern science. Man is evolving into part human and part robot. Who does not have a cell phone or computer today? Can we live without modern technology such as a home telephone or ships and plains to travel abroad?

To conclude the answer to your question is relative not absolute. When you are older and have kids one day you'll probably purchase electronics for them at an age younger than when you first received your first piece of technology. It is an essential part of modern human day to day living and therefore the question of necessity will outweigh the question of responsibility in every situation, given your parents can afford it.

It is hard to judge this because anybody a few years older that did not have that kind of technology at that age. When I was 13 years old laptops were still big, slow and heavy computers; nothing like the new mac computers. And about iphones, the original Motorola razr was considered the best phone! I think it is a little to much, because, the past generation was not raised with half of the technology or resources to have things like that. Basically for older generations that technology is brand new and innovative, for the newer generations is normal. I can't judge anybody just because i'm jealous I didn't have an iphone. The reality is smartphones are paving the way towards how technology will be in the next couple of years and having one is now normal. But i must say that a lot of teenagers don't need an iphone or a macbook for anything, they just have them to show-off, and I'm against that.

  • Why is it that teenagers are so impatient? So i'm at the mall and this lady who has her teen daughter (looks 14) is impatient because the line at chick fil a is so busy. And she was saying to her mom that she wanted to walk outside because she didn't get any service on her Iphone. And then she was saying she did not want chick fil a, she wanted to go to Sbarros pizza. Teenagers can be just so impatient AM I RIGHT?
  • Why is Apple so keen to push USB-C with their Macbooks but they don't include USB-C on the iPhone? It seems like the Macbook department at Apple thinks USB Type C is the best thing since sliced bread but the iPhone department thinks USB Type C is work of the devil.
  • Why do people like apple products such as iphones and macbooks? IN terms of phones Androids are BY FAR the superior device and also why would you spend over $1000 dollars on a macbook pro when you can get a toshiba touchscreen laptop with 1000 gigabytes worth of storage for only $699? Seriously i would like to know.
  • Why do people call teenagers with electronics 'spoiled'? For example, there are teenagers out there that has a laptop or ipod/iphone and other teenagers, especially the poor ones, calls them spoiled. In my opinion they are just jealous because their family is too poor to afford any of those technology. But deep inside, i know they want it.
