Why do people hate on brands?

We'll let me explain the situation… I noticed a transition I guess you would call it. I used to be a gamer, like hardcore, and I had all the really cool gear. I had all the name brand gear the latest games custom stuff, you name it I owned it. But recently I stopped and starting getting more social and doing outdoor sports and listening to music all hours of the day. So I decided (as most people would) that I wanted to have nice gear for these activities like music. And when I was a gamer and I said "just got the new headset" people were awesome "oh that's awesome", "wow I've always wanted those, hope you like them" but now it's deferent. I have what people consider to be stuff that people buy because it's "cool" I have Beats headsets, iPhone, iPad, I wear Osiris shoes, stuff like that. I bought these things because I like them, Osiris shoes are comfortable and good for when I skate, iPad is useful for studying and watching tv, the iPhone was the first phone I ever had and I just liked it. But now I have to justify every purchase I make. "Wow you have beats, have fun on the bandwagon" "wow you have an iPhone buy an android you idiot" "High tops are for fruits who wanna be cool" what the hell? Why is it that if I wanna treat myself to something nice people have to scorn me? It seriously gets to me because my parents work incredibly hard so that I can have nice stuff because growing up they had it bad, and then people just make it impossible to enjoy these things. Anybody got any thoughts?

I think you need to stop worrying about what other people think of you.

It is personal preferences. Just like music. Some people like your music and some don't. Same for clothing and accessories. A lot of the time you're paying for the brand name and not the quality of the product. For example Beats are actually terrible for the price. I have done extensive tests with earphones as I listen to music every single day and beats was one of the worst in my huge collection. Doing research I found out that the materials used are very cheap and rubbish compared to the unknown brands. Whereas with Apple products I felt differently. Many people hate on Apple but that is purely because they can't afford the products. Apple products are expensive because they use high quality products that last a long time.

YES i do and i understand exactly what you mean… Most people believe that when they find something new and more catchy they forget about old things and they would get on you about it because they think its lame even though it might be just your type of style. Everyone has a different type of style no matter if someone else likes it or not…
