Why is the sound not recording?
I have had an iPhone 4 for quite a while now, and I've never had this problem before. When I record videos, the audio doesn't get recorded, and when I play back the video, all I hear is a loud hissing sound. I know that this isn't a problem with iOS 7, because it was perfectly fine when I first updating the OS. I'm really confused.

You can try to listen to the video you recorded with headphones, or try copying the video to your computer to see if the hissing sound is still there. It's also possible that the microphone is clogged with dirt, which would prevent it from being able to pick up audio. The hissing could be a result of the automatic audio gain trying to compensate for the lack of audio the microphone is picking up.
Its probably how you have an iphone 4 and running ios7 cuz stupid things happen when you have a old model phone and a new software running on it if you get wht i'm saying
- Will my voice sound better or worse on recording? To practise for auditions, I record myself (on my iPhone 4s if that makes a dofference) singing and doing monologues. What I want to know if those recordings make my voice sound better or worse than how it actually is, or if that's how everyone else around me hears my talking/singing.
- Why does it sound different when i listen to an iphone recording with versus without headphones? I post little covers of myself singing and it just seems that without headphones, my voice sounds more resonant and full but when i plug in my headphones it just sounds really whiny and lacking bass. Is the sound with headphones a more accurate sound?
- When I sing I sound good in my head but on recording it doesn't sound as good? I understand why this is but I want to know if it is because my iPhone recording quality isn't good. If not how do I actually listen to how others hear me sing.
- Nokia Lumia 1020 white noise instead of sound when recording? I bought a Nokia Lumia 1020 and I'm amazed with it so far. Personally I like it more than my old iPhone. But just a few moments ago I decided to record a video for the first time. The picture is really good, but instead of getting any recorded sound, there's like white noise instead of anything else.Am I doing something wrong? Thanks The microphone is clean and everything. I think I might have gotten a faulty phone?
