Why won't my iPhone charge?

I have an iPhone 6s and it won't charge. I've tried multiple outlets and cables, even the one in my car, but none of them works. The cables and outlets work with other phones though. I also tried restoring the phone through iTunes, but my device didn't come up when I plugged it into my computer. I also restarted it, but still nothing. I know I need to take it to Apple and let them look at it, but do you know what's happening? Is there anything else I can do at home? Can the phone or charging port become damaged because I charge it too often?

I think you answered our own question. The charge inlet plug on your phone may be damaged. If you dropped your phone while charging or maybe pulled out the charge cord too hard.
a'lso if you are using a 3rd party charge cord that too will damage the phone because apple told me that when mine went bad.same issue as yours. Your phone is too new for the battery to be bad yet. You might try plugging in a good apple charger and let it charge for several hours and see if anything happens
