Will my iphone work after I swam with it in water?
I was going swimming and 5 minutes into it I realized my iPhone 5s was in my pocket. It was already turned off. I dried it off and shook it a little bit to get water out, and a half hour later, after buying some rice, I put it fully emerged into a bowl of rice. I did research and 5 hours later put serran wrap on it to keep the rice fresh? My question is, how long should I wait to turn it on, and do you think it will work.
Really depend there's no easy answer whether it'll work or not. Make sure its off(hold down lock button and slide to power off) You should leave it in rice for 36-48 hours. Check on it after 36 hours and if it doesn't work leave it for longer. It might work after.
Try turning it on now. If it doesn't work put it back in the rice and wait a few more hours. If it doesn't work after that I would suggest trading it for a new phone.
Seriously mate, hate to brake it to you but iPhones are allergic to water. I think it'd safe to say it's screwed. Check your warranty, then be like "it dropped in a puddle in the car park whilst I was checking a text". If you say you went for a swim the warranty company won't cover it
