Will my verizon iphone 4s work in Ireland?
I have a Verizon iPhone 4s, model A1387, which means it's CDMA, not GSM. I got it unlocked by Verizon, because I was hoping that in Ireland I could buy a local SIM card for it. However, now I'm hearing conflicting info that even though it's unlocked, Ireland's SIM cards won't work with it because it's not GSM based, like all of Europe. Please help! Will I be able to get a sim card or not?
You are correct. Because the Verizon phone is a CDMA network it will not work in Ireland. You would need a unlock GSM phone then you can purchase any sim card and put into the unlock phone and it will work.
If you've got the phone factory unlocked, it will work with any SIM card globally doesn't matter if you use the phone in Ireland or Greece or Singapore. Don't worry and take it to Ireland, it's a good phone.
