Windows 8 and iPhone 4S connect/disconnect problem?

So I bought a new laptop and I wanted to sync my songs to my phone from this computer. Thing is, when I plug in my phone via USB it constantly connects and disconnects making that sound on and off and eventually stops and connects thereafter. Sometimes it doesn't have this problem and connects without DCing but I don't know if there's a driver problem or just iPhone's compatability with Windows 8.

I know it's not the ports because it does this on all four ports and it's not the cable because it's done this with a brand new cable too. What can I do to resolve this?

  • Why does my IPhone hotspot disconnect every time I join the Wi-Fi and what can I do to fix it? I don't have any data right now but I do have Wi-Fi and I want to establish a hotspot with my other phone (Samsung). But every time I turn on my hotspot it disconnects from the Wi-Fi and the other phone can't connect.   • Why does my internet disconnect for a few seconds and then reconnect? I have had this problem for months now, and I haven't had any luck with fixing it. We have gone through 4 different routers and 2 different modems. I have tired disabling stuff and uninstalling and reinstalling drivers. It is only the internet connection that drops, the router signal/connection remains and my NAS can still be accessed. Sometimes it goes hours without loosing connection, sometimes it's minutes. I'm using a macbook pro with mountain lion installed, and the same issue occurs with my iphone. My network set up is essentially the modem > switch > router > laptop/iphone.
