Would syncing my iphone with Itunes unlock it?
I stupidly forgot my password and have locked my iphone. I have tried my password a certain amount of times that it has now ask me to connect to itunes, which I have. If I sync them again, would it unlock the phone or do I have to restore it?
If it's the same computer that your phone was last synced to, then it will unlock without needing to restore it.

wht you are going to have to do is restore your iphone but you are gonna have to put it in dfu mode first

just follow this then restore your iphone but don't restore from a back up cos it will have your password on it.
You're going to have to restore it. If you simply hook it up to Itunes for syncing it's still going to need you to manually put in your password to get it ready for any type of downloading sequence.
