Becoming Iphone certified technician or certified cellphone repair technician?

Is it worth it these days to become certified in cellphone repair? I was thinking about doing this as a side gig. I see apple has cerification courses and Ifixit. Is it worth it to go through the courses if so what route should I take? I do have training in electronics.

Not really. Cell phones are being built much better over time. Stronger glass. More resilient internals and water proofing. Coupled with Apple trying to push as many customers into Apple care as humanly possible means less and less business for cell phone repair shops. You also have to consider that many people are forgoing repair shops altogether because of the availability parts, tools, and instructional guides. All this equates to less and less business for repair shops. There's a reason why iFixit has been extremely successful.

If you want to work with electronics, get a degree in electronic engineering.

I was not there was any certification for cell phone or i phone repair or technician, this isn't a job where certification is needed, ie. A financial planner, a CPA, a lawyer, a doctor, or a tax preparer, not even a plumber or an electrician

  • Will taking my iPhone to a cellphone repair shope void the warranty? There's a cell phone repair shop nearby my house. The top button of my iPhone 5 has become unresponsive. I've only had it since December. I went to the apple store, but they wanted to replace the entire phone. I thought that was crazy just for a button. Will taking my iPhone to a cell phone repair shop just to see what they say or if they can fix it end up making my warranty void?
  • New Dell Technician. Any Advice on how to be productive? I have been working for Dell for 1 month and I want to be able to be very productive. Some of the things we do are. Document our time worked, miles traveled, and of course fix computers. I have downloaded a few iPhone apps that are helping me keep track of my mileage and time. I also have excel worksheets to document these things. Is there anything else I can do to be more productive? The reason I ask is because I was off by 18 hours last week. Advice please!
  • How hard is it to be a computer repair technician? I was wondering because all I ever do is google the problem (always able to and fix computers for family all the time) and can repair computers easily. Is being a computer repair techinician that hard or is it just like what I do for my family? I'm doing this from my iphone sorry for any mess ups or none capitalizations. Just wondering since I want to get a job and I'm currently in college for game design (with some networking already done to)
  • How do I prevent my iphone from becoming unresponsive? I have an iPhone5s and every week or two it goes black showing nothing on the screen. Whatever buttons I press it doesn't turn back on nor show anything on the screen. If someone calls me my phone doesn't respond still. So far each time this happens it lasts for 3-8 hours then at a random time starts working. Is there a way to prevent this from occurring again?
