Can a buyer lie on Ebay/Amazon about receiving an item?
For example I sell and IPhone, and ship it phone with delivery confirmation and signature. What if, after delivery the buyer decides lie by to filing a claim against me saying that the box was empty?
That's why you insure it. When you insure it, at the post office, it protects you against things like this.
Keep your records.
If it was over $250 in value many people don't realize that ebay requires you to use signature confirmation or they will not cover it. Unfortunately, I had the same experience selling iphones on ebay. I don't think the buyer was lying. I just think USPS workers are on the lookout for expensive items and when they aren't insured it's easier to get away with stealing them…
Ebay has a new option under your seller profile where you can report the buyer. I would do it As soon as possible! Chances are this person has done this before. Ebay has a record of this and will side with you if a dispute is filed.

- SHOULD I SHIP MY ITEM TO THIS SUSPICIUS BUYER ON EBAY? Today I sold and Iphone 4s on Ebay and everything was working out just fine, the buyer payed like usual. Then, the buyer messaged me and said "I accidentally put the wrong address. Can I change the address?" I replyed and told him/her "NO". I then went to paypal to see if it my funds were pending and they was. I also looked at the buyers buying history and he didn't have any. He joined August 14, 2014. Do you guys think I should ship the item or contact ebay?
- I want to refund an item on ebay but the item has been modified? I have a cracked iphone that has the cracks colored in. They werent colored in before the purchase. Does this mean i can't get a refund?
- Buyer not paid on ebay after collecting item.further actions? Basically I sold some machinery for my grandad for £1200 on ebay, after a £200 deposit was made, the buyer collected the item and left a cheque of £1000. The cheque bounced and I've received a chain of excuses as to why the buyer hasn't paid, his dad dying, iphone being stolen etc. After looking into his address and personal details, it's clear that he is a dishonest person from previous employers. What further actions can I do, small claims court?
