Is my daughter spoiled for having an iPhone?

My daughter is 13 and we bought her an iPhone 5 when it came in the stores, people think she's "spoiled".Is she really spoiled? She has other phones in case one runs out of battery. She isn't the nicest kid she does brag about the stuff she has and I don't have a problem with it if you buy something what's wrong with bragging?

Added (1). I don't think iPhones are expensive.

I wouldn't call her "spoiled" but an iPhone can expensive, so people would think she's spoiled.

I have to agree that she sounds quite spoiled. What 13 year old needs an I-Phone 5 or multiple phones for that matter? And bragging is very rude and trashy.

In my opinion she's too young to have an iPhone 5. I mean i'm 16 and I don't even have a cell phone! And i would say it is very rude to brag, and you encouraging that is just wrong. People whom are less fortunate may feel bad, and your daughter may begin to look at her self as "superior", which isn't necassarily a good thing.

I know kids younger than her that have iPhones so I don't think there's a problem with it, but bragging about all that she has is definitely not going to make her "liked" in school, at all.

No, she isn't spoiled if she appreciates it. It is also common for a teen to have an iPhone.

Now I wouldn't doubt it now she has lost all communications with you now since you bought it for her. Yes you are spoiling her. Now you know why I will not get my 18yo son one.

Possibly, but so what? There's a lot of practicality to kids that age having a phone.
