APPLE IPHONE 3G STUCK ON PINEAPLE LOGO AFTER RESTORE

I bought an iphone 3g on ebay. And it was working fine, the only problem was that it had the pineapple logo instead of the apple logo. I decided to restore it, thinking that it'll erase the settings and memory along with the pineapple logo. It restored for 2hrs and then appeared a blank black screen. 10 minutes passed and i looked at it again. The pineapple logo appeared. I thought that it was just powering up, but the logo just stayed there for hours and hours. Do you have any advice? Or somehow get rid of this? 10 pts BEST ANSWER!

Long story short, friend played around with my iphone for a bit and now he claims he is able to track my history via email or something. This includes ap logs safari history texts etc…
It isn't jailbroken, no cydia whatever. Is this really possible? I'm a little creeped out… He doesn't have my passcode or anything. We're both on separate connections too if that helps.
