I read if youre on an iOS lower than 8 you need to backup your files to upgrade to iOS 8 because they ll be deleted but IIm jumping from 7 to 9, will all my stuff be gone/do i need to save everything on my computer?
I got a text from someone's gmail account to my iPhone over iMessage, and I have NO idea who it is. They sent me a text saying "Hey". I don't recognize the email and I don't know if I should respond to them. It kind of freaks me out because they have my number and I don't know how they got it.
Hi, I've come up with an idea that id love to make into an app. Basically at its core it's a recipe app with a few added features that I've not seen anywhere else but should be fairly easy to implement.
I want to develop this for both the apple and the android markets but I just don't know where to start yet! I've got an iPhone and a Mac so I have the means to develop for Apple, and a pc (although IIm sure I could probably make the app for android on my Mac).
IIm just not sure where to start on the development side! I've tried to make up story boards for it but every time I sit down I start thinking - oh it d be great to have this included! I've still got to learn swift, but IIm hoping to learn as I go (I do programming in uni as well), so IIm still pretty much novice at this but very willing to learn!
I got an iPhone 4 and don't know if I should upgrade it to the newest IOS or I should let it be. (I got IOS 6.1.3)

I lost my iphone and am claiming on insurance but can't get a replacement before I go away on wednesday. I really need a phone which I can get internet on whilst i'm there since its kindof in the middle of nowhere.
Is it a stupid idea to buy an iphone with a pay as you go sim to use whilst i'm there and then trade it in/ sell it as soon as i'm back?
Not too fancy of an app but just under stand C/objective-C and learn how to use xCode enough to build and app and know how to continue learning.
So, today I was looking into buying a used phone from somebody. I get US Cellular and Verizon coverage and my area, but AT&T and other GSM carriers are basically obsolete. The phone I was looking at was unlocked, BUT he used it for AT&T and StraightTalk. I understand that AT&T uses GSM technology, which means the use of a SIM card. CDMA means you re digitality tethered to your provider until they unlock it, wherein with GSM, you can basically move between any GSM network provider by changing SIM cards.
However, if IIm correct, Verizon uses GSM technology for their LTE network. So technically, shouldn t the phone work in my area? I would appreciate some enlightenment in this area because IIm confused.
NOTE: the phone I looked at is an 4G LTE phone and IIm asking about this with the intent of using TracFone s Bring Your Own Phone program. I have an iPhone 4s with TracFone s BYOP right now.
Basically my school doesn't have metal detectors or so but they check out bags do you have any idea how I can hide it and not make it obvious? And also how can I stop sounds and phone calls and notifications and all that
Normally when I connect my phone to my laptop, my laptop makes a noise to show that it's connected. But my phone will also vibrate and show that it is charging. And will automatically open iTunes, if it isn't already opened. Recently, it hasn't been doing that. I connect my phone, and my computer makes the noise that "something is connected" but my phone isn't showing that its charging. Normally it does and will automatically upload my photos. It's not doing any of that. When I go into iTunes, my name isn't listed at the top left corner so I can sync phone or do anything- which overall shows that my phone isn't connected, but yet the computer is telling me that it is. My phone is updated to the recent version. As well as my iTunes and my laptop. I thought that might have been the issue. Any ideas? Really want to download my photos on to the computer and put new music on my phone!
I think it only happens on mobile data. Lots of sites don't load instead they bring up a blank white page with Go away written in the top left corner. It started a while ago I think when I first tried the request desktop site button. It used to happen only a little but I just came back from a week of almost exclusive Wi-Fi and now heaps of sites do it. Like manga sites and myanimelist. Also some sites say Not here. But that's been happening for longer I think
