Will installing Linux on my chromebook cause any problems?
I have an Acer c710 chromebook that I got for christmas last year and I'd like to install linux finally. I've been putting it off for a very long time because I hat to send my computer in to Acer itself earlier this year because for the first 3 months with my computer it only worked like 10-40% of the time and the other times it would have the "chrome OS is missing or damaged." Eventually it got so bad that my computer was completely useless so I sent it in to get a replacement OS thing [sorry I'm no good with computers, that's my dad's thing.]
Anyway I have a bunch of stuff I'd like to be able to do [such as use decent editing software] that I know I'd be able to do if I installed linux. I've researched it for a while and know exactly what needs to be done but what I haven't been able to find is if there's any possibility of damaging the OS? I know there's that possibility for jailbreaking phones which is why I refuse to jailbreak my iphone when I had no problem doing so with my ipod. So I'm wondering if there's similar "bricking" possibilities [or anything damaging for that matter] for this situation? Because I Really don't want to have to send my computer in for repair again.
