I was on the train going down central park west.
I was by myself but in my cart were five girls.
All of them students and all of them very beautiful.
The faces of angels.
One was fixing her makeup while looking at the screen on her iPhone, the other was fishing something out of her Louis Vuitton bag, another had beautiful red nails, she was holding a caramel machiatto.
But all these girls were doing something in common.
They were complaining and praying that they all did well this semester and how school has been so tough for them.
The blonde one with the LV bag had a particularly hard time getting her GPA up.
As I saw these beautiful girls, I had an overwhelming hatred for the school.
These angels should not be condemned to that awful bureaucratic dungeon.
How can they sit in a class with a bunch of loud kids?
How can they put up with this half zoo half jail?
This institution which just sucks their money and leaves them on the streets to rot.
Who cares about GPA when you are beautiful?
These girls deserve to go to the French Riviera in the summer and the Caribbean in the winter.
Their lives should be more pleasurable and extravagant, like the princesses we all love.
It truly hurt me to hear how school is destroying these girls, for the reality is that they will probably end up in the arms of a rich man.
But with so few rich men, many of them will lead a miserable life as they age.
The bank keeps charging them their loans and their looks fade.
