I dropped my iPhone 5 in coffee, it came on, worked for about a week and then shut off, when I plugged it in it made a charging sound every five seconds, I replaced the mother board, LCD, and the charging dock station it's self, I then re assembled the phone, and it's doing the same thing, making the noise every 5 seconds, I then replaced the battery, and loud speaker and charger. Still no luck!
So, I'm upgrading from a LG verizon phone, (i don't know the exact kind, i've had it for just over 2 years and it has a sliding keyboard) The 5s will also replace my current 4 gen iPod touch.
So, since I'm new to iPhones and smartphones in general, I have a couple of questions.
-I read somewhere about syncing your stuff from an old iphone. Can I sync stuff from my old ipod/itunes? Also, will I have a selection of what I want to sync? I want to sync my photos, videos, music and other media… And maybe some apps (i may want a fresh start on apps) I defiantly DO NOT want to sync my ipod contacts
-Is there a way to transfer my contacts, and text history from my old phone to new iPhone? I can live w/o text history, but I'd rather want my contacts transferred (this is why I don't want contacts from my old ipod transferred, it has a bunch of random contacts, where my phone has my real ones: P) I read something about a SIM card, but I don't think I have that anymore. I can, however, connect it to my computer, but i don't know if I can do anything that way
-How will I need to activate it with my contract, or w/e? We ordered it and it is coming in the mail.
-Is there anything I need to know about ANYTHING smartphones (iPhones in general), iO7 (g4 ipod did not support), and any tips, tricks, hints, setup process for my iPhone?
Like, if I buy a cheap iphone 4 will they activate it? Or does it have to be through their company?
I tried updating my phone on my computer but then it said I needed to restore my phone. Will my apps/photos be deleted? I plug my phone to my computer and it says "backing up phone" but I don't know if that means it's backed-up. I'm really freaking out Please Help!
Have tried it many times, did not work. Is it working for anyone else, or is everyone having the same problem?

I just got a super protective case for my iPhone 5s but I can't use the touch ID because of the screen protector and the rubber undercover. I have the griffin survivor for the iPhone 5, which also fits. What should I do?

Now today, we have all that high tech, but there are a few things that are no longer being used, but I'm wondering is there a reason why some people think the 00s had all that tech when mostly it didn't?
I currently have an Ipod touch (not sure which generation. It has a camera but is not new enough to get the IO7 update). I have started a job recently (I'm 18) and I have built up like £600 in my debit account. Anyway, I was wondering whether to buy an iphone but did not know whether it would be worth it. I never hardly text people, so I don't really need it for the phone side (so I'd use pay as you go if I can with an iPhone). I would mainly want it because it looks good, and because I can get internet on it anywhere (such as at work) which I can't with an Ipod touch.
So, a few questions:
1) Is it worth getting an Iphone bearing in mind that I will hardly be actually using it as a phone?
2) Can you have an iPhone on pay as you go?
3) Is there an iPhone 6 (or whatever it will be called) coming out soon? I don't want to spend money on an iPhone 5 for it to not be the most updated version in a few months.
I'll be purchasing my first phone ever this, Friday and I'm so excited! HOWEVER, I'm torn between the Note 3 and the 5C. So I need help on picking one. Please explain why you think either phone is the best choice.
