IPhone picture message crashed my SMS app?

I sent upwards of 120 pictures, 10 in each message to my mother so she has pictures on her new phone. Now my SMS/message app won't work. It opens, shows a black background screen with no message or names displaying, then crashes after 20 seconds. I tried to restart my iPhone, I tried to close all my apps, and I've tried to shut off my cellular data to interrupt the app and make it stop trying to send.

Nothing works, what do I do?

Will jailbreaking make my iPhone 3G function again?

Stupid Apple! They are forcing me to get rid of my iPhone 3G by killing off my apps, apps that I paid for! My daughter updated all my apps and now they don't work cuz the new version requires a minimum of iOS 5 to work and mine stopped at 4.3.2 or something. I always felt guilty about Jailbreaking but if it will allow me to use apps that are now not working I'll do it.
