What to do with a cracked iPhone 5?

My friends freaking dropped my iPhone 5.It still works but to be honest I hate having the big spider-web-like cracks on the phone. There's NO Way I'm telling my dad about this, he JUST got it for me and I don't want to disappoint him. I told my mom and she will help but she's not very much help honestly because she dosen't even have a cell phone herself. I have NO insurance for it. Also, I'll replace the screen myself if I HAVE to but are there any other options? (I know nothing about parts and crap so yeah I'd probably screw that up).

What is error code 1005 for apple?

So I was on my iPhone 3GS watching a youtube video when half way through it just stopped wouldn't load past half way I tried refreshing but I would wait 10 seconds and it would come up error: 1005, now aswel as this I can't make or receive calls or texts basically making the phone completely useless if anyone knows what I could do to fix this it would be much appreciated ( and yes I know the phones crap and It always comes up with new ways to break)

Added (1). I understand that Jeremy said that it is basically apple edmitting the phone is terrible but does it mean that it won't work anymore or after time will it let me use it again?

Solar charger for iPhone5 DIY plug icon instead of lightning bolt?

I'm building a solar charger for my iPhone 5 and I'm almost there! I've run the circuit through a 12v power supply and the circuit works on my breadboard and the lightning shows up. I'm pulling around 18v with my solar panel into my circuit yet the "plug" icon shows up instead of the lightning bolt icon. Any suggestions will help!

What to bring for field trip to Central Park?

Next month my class (freshmen) is taking a field trip to central park and then to the metropolitan museum of art.we're taking a walking tour of central park and i'm not sure what to bring. I was thinking about taking a crossbody purse with my iphone, headphones, and other necessities you keep in a purse. We also have to bring bagged lunch and instantly I thought about bringing panera bread. Would that spoil quickly? Also, what are the best shoes to wear for what we're doing? Should I bring extra money?

I have a lenovo G570 laptop, (widescreen) And i already have a laptop bag. What i'm looking for is something more like an iphone case(the kind that wraps around and protects your phone while you use it) for my laptop, where can i get one? Please provide a link. My iPhone 4 won't charge and gets very hot?

I've had my iPhone 4 for about 2 years, but recently since I went abroad its been having troubles.
It won't charge longer than about 40%, but then it looses charge really quickly. It also heats up allot on the back of the phone, and the torch used to be constantly on dimly but that's stopped now.

What is the problem and how is it fixed?
