Why does my smartphone's screen turn on by itself when my earphones are plugged in? This is extremely?

Annoying. It has caused me to make unwanted phone calls when I accidentally touch it. It has also caused me to accidentally hang up on a person when I'm on a phone call.

At first I thought this was a glitch that only my phone had. But I've heard people who own Galaxies and iphones complain about the same thing.

Could the motion sensor be causing this to happen? How do I turn this damn thing off? I can't find an option to disable this useless and counterproductive feature on my phone. Why does a "motion sensor" even exist? Who is the genius who thought this was a good idea?

FYI: I have an LG X Power

Storage not the same on computer for iPhone?

So I have the iPhone 5c (yes it's old) and I'm always getting notifications that my storage is full. If I go to my settings it shows me that I only have a few MB's left. However, whenever I plug my phone into the computer and open iTunes, it says that I still have entire GB's of space open. These can't both be right, so I'm not sure what the issue is.
