What do I do next if I have been scammed on eBay?

I won a bid on an iPhone which was over £150.00. There was 39 bids overall. After a while, me and my brother noticed that the title was very misleading. It kept including 'box' but said the model, the colour, the memory, and that it included a charger and screen protector. It says no returns. I'm 99% sure I have just paid for the box with a charger and screen protector. I have messaged them to confirm what they are actually selling me but have had no response. Luckily I didn't pay because I noticed how misleading it was. I have now contacted eBay and explained everything. Does anyone have any advise on sellers that do this or what eBay can do next? - Thanks

If you feel like it's a scam/misleading advertisement, and the seller does not respond, simply don't pay. Even if ebay suspends your account, so what? Ebay doesn't have the cheapest prices on the planet anymore. There are alternatives.

Ah haha… Alternate Dispute Resolution, that's of you have brought it.
I'll be quiet…

I'm a seller on ebay and a buyer. Yes people will scam you by tricking you like that happened to me. So basically you message the seller if he doesn't reply ever you simply don't pay until he answers with very detailed info. If he reports you for not paying you won't get hurt because you can tell ebay that he would respond to your answers and you werent exactly sure if he was really selling what was intended. You can also send ebay a message i'm not sure how cause i forgot but basacally you tell them you don't want the item you purchased because it was a mistake or something

Just copy and paste your question description onto a complaint to eBay…

You've not paid, so wait until you hear from the seller or from ebay.

At the risk of stating the blindingly obvious, next time you bid, read the description very, very carefully!

You have not been scammed. If the listing said it was a box, not a phone, then you got what was described. It's only if the seller said explicitly that you were getting a phone and he sent a box that you would be scammed. If he said that he was selling a box and you bid on it, then it's not a scam. People have spent $1000 on a picture of a laptop because they did not read the description.
Just don't pay - the seller will file a dispute for an item not paid for and the sale will be cancelled

in the future always read the description over and over. Because if you had paid and got a box, you could not get your money back if the ad stated that you were buying a box.
