I have a iPhone 5C with Sprint 3G. I want to talk to my cousin who lives in Japan (I live in the US) with Face Time, but my parents fear that it might cost money. Does it? I use Cellular Network because my house doesn't have Wi-Fi.

I have an iPhone 4s running ios 7. It is locked to Globe Telecom (philippines). My mom got a new phone so this 4s is mine now. I cut my regular sized sim card to a micro sim. It fits perfectly on the sim card tray of the iphone. However, it says "No Sim". I tried inserting my mom's old sim which is deactivated and it detects it and says "No Service".
Why won't the iphone detect my sim? What should i do?
FYI, my sim is also a Globe telecom sim.

My old phone had an issue my insurance didn't cover but that completely destroyed the phone. This leaves me with a year left on my contract with Sprint and no usable phone, which is simply not an option because I'm in Manhattan a lot even though I live in Queens and my family worries. I really want an iPhone 5s, but I'm not technically eligible for an upgrade yet. I know I can get a phone and then replace my current phone on my plan, but I'm simply not in a place where I can realistically shell out $600 on a phone. Is there any way I can get the contract price without the contract itself if I'm planning on still using it with a Sprint plan?
