I have a situation! My son found an iPhone 4. He asked me if he can use it… But as we all know, most likely the phone has been reported LOST by the owner, and I CAN'T activate it. With that said, the phone was password protected and we ended up doing a restore. I thought "restored" and "manufacturer re-set" was the same… Maybe it is. But now I'm stuck with a Verizon message that say "Verizon Wireless Account Information", it also asks me for my cell number, zip code, last 4 of social security number. Is there a way to skip that? I'm afraid to put my info, and getting in trouble by trying to activate a phone that could potentially be reported lost or even stolen. My son is 8, and all I want to do… Is for my son to be able to use it as an iTouch, just to play games.
How can I skip that message? Or do a manufacturing re-set. I found an article online, which told me that the only way to skip the password of an iPhone is to re-set it, and it will erase everything it.So, what I did was… I connected the iPhone to my iTunes, and while it was connected… I hold the home button and the power button, and it gave me the option to RESTORE, and after couple minutes… It gives me the message I mention above. Did I do something wrong, or can I try something else?
