How to not receive text messages?

I currently have AT and T and have a FLIP PHONE. Not those iphone or blackberry or smartphones you guys have. Well the thing is I have a limit on my text messages per month. The thing is one person keeps on sending me so many text messages that this person isn't stopping. My question is if i take off my phone… Its a flip phone… I can easily take out the battery etc and the phone won't work.

Would this mean I would not receive any text message or phone calls even when i later put the battery back and power my phone on? If not… Is there a way to prevent text messages?

Why won't iPhone activate after restore?

My iPhone 3GS was jail broken in order to unlock it so that it would work on T-mobile now that I'm no longer on Tmobile I did a factory restore in order to take off the jailbreak and unlock from the phone the problem is that when the resore is done it won't get past the activation screen. It says it can't activate even with an at&t sim card. I don't know what to do I don't wanna 'hactivate' it because that will be another jailbreak I want this phone to be back to normal-stock apple
