HTC One- Want to move over from an iphone?

I have been completely impressed with the HTC One from what I've seen of it. I've been on iphone for the last 2.5 years and it's starting to feel stale. I'm fully integrated into icloud for backups and itunes match for music (i have over 20GB of music i'd like to store in a cloud). I primarily use my phone for texting, business (exchange and gmail support needed), games, and internet. If I go android i for sure will be utilizing NES emulators for all my roms. I'd like to have better file management and seperation from itunes. I've never used android.

How complicated is the switch from iphone to android? How is the cloud storage options? What basic information do i need to know before considering a switch?

PS. Don't make this an android/ios bashing thread as they usually become.

How to fix my disabled iPhone?

My friend put a password on my phone, and after much trial and all error, I disabled my phone. I heard suggestions to connect it to iTunes and back it up/ restore it. When I plug my phone into the computer, it refuses to preform those tasks because the phone is locked. I've connected and played around in iTunes, but my phone is still disabled without offering a keypad to retype a password (that I now know). What do?

How to store my iPhone photos on the iCloud?

I'm very confused about this whole iCloud scenario, basically I want to store about 3GB worth if photos somewhere other than my phone, I don't want to lose them though. I can't work out how to store them on iCloud though, so, any help will be lovely, thanks!

Why is my iPhone trying to download a software update I already have?

I'm trying to restore my iPhone, but in order to do that, iTunes keeps telling me I need to have my software updated to iOS 6.1.2. The issue with this is that I already have this update and I don't know why it won't let me restore my phone without installing an update I already have and have had for a while now. I tried downloading it anyway, but it said my network timed out. I tried going into my settings and searching for any software updates there, but it wouldn't leave the "Checking for update… " screen even after waiting for around 10 minutes. Can somebody please help? I'm starting to get really frustrated.
